BAGABIEV Almaz

Almaz Bagabiev est né le 8 janvier 1991 à Kazan, en Russie. A 10 ans, il commence l’apprentissage de la musique par l’accordéon. A 13 ans, il entame des études de flûte à l’Académie centrale de musique de la ville de Kazan auprès de Stepan Pushin. En même temps, il suit des cours privés au Conservatoire de Kazan avec Dmitry Antonov. Plus tard, en 2006, il passe l’examen d’admission au collège de musique militaire à Moscou où il étudie pendant 4 ans dans la classe d’Andrey Alpatov. En 2011 il entame des études à Leuven, en Belgique, au LUCA (Lemmens University of Culture and Arts) auprès de Berten D’Hollander. Durant ses études en Belgique, il participe en 2012 au Moscow Flute completion et l’Adams Flute competition en 2014. Cette même année, il participe à un échange académique à Hamburg en Allemagne, auprès de Hans-Udo Heinzmann. De 2015 à 2016, il remplit son obligation militaire dans le Russian Central military Orchestra. Durant son service, il a eu le privilège de jouer avec de nombreux chefs renommés dont Valery Gergiev et le Mariinsky Theatre Symphony Orchestra. En 2017, il remporte le 3ème prix du concours de flûte à Sofia, en Bulgarie. Actuellement, il termine ses études avec Berten D’Hollander au LUCA.

Op 10-jarige leeftijd maakte Almaz Bagabiev kennis met de muziek via de accordeon. Als 13-jarige studeerde hij fluit aan de muziekacademie van Kazan bij Stephan Pushin. Terzelfdertijd volgde hij privé lessen aan het conservatorium bij Dmitri Antonov. In 2006 startte hij een 4-jarige opleiding aan de militaire muziekacademie in Moskou. In 2011 kwam hij aan het LUCA (Lemmensinstituut) zijn opleiding vervolmaken bij professor Berten D'Hollander. Vanaf 2012 nam hij zelf deel aan internationale competities. Zijn militaire dienst in het Russisch leger kon hij doorbrengen in het Russisch Centraal Militair Orkest. Daar had hij de kans samen te werken met de gerenomeerde orkestleider Valery Gergiev. In 2017 behaalde hij de derde prijs in een internationale competitie in Sofia,Bulgarije. Dit jaar beëindigt hij aan het LUCA zijn studies met professor Berten D'Hollander.

Almaz Bagabiev was born on 8th of January 1991 in Kazan, Russia. He started to learn music in a music school at age 10 playing accordion. At age 13 he started to learn flute playing in central music school of Kazan-city with Stepan Pushin. At the same time he was taking private lessons with professor in Kazan Conservatoir Dmitry Antonov. Later in 2006 he passed the entrance examinations in Music Military college in Moscow where he studied 4 years in flute class of Andrey Alpatov. In 2011 he started to study in Leuven, Belgium in LUCA (Lemmens university of culture and arts) with Berten D’Hollander. While studying in Belgium he participated in Moscow Flute completion in 2012 and Adams Flute competition in 2014. In this year he made his exchange study in Hamburg, Germany with Hans-Udo Heinzmann. In the period of 2015-2016 he made his obliged military service in the Russian Central military orchestra. While serving there he was honored to play with many great conductors including Valery Gergiev together with Mariinsky Theatre Symphony orchestra. In 2017 he took the third prize in International flute competition in Sofia, Bulgaria. Currently he’s finishing his study in LUCA with Berten D’Hollander. 

LAUREYS Ruben

Ruben Laureys a étudié la musicologie et la Culture à la KULeuven et l’University de Bristol.
Actuellement, il étudie la guitare classique au Lemmensinstituut auprès de Roland Broux. Il joue dans différents ensembles, allant du trio de jazz au bigband. Mais actuellement, il se concentre sur le répertoire soliste et la musique pour petit ensemble (duo).

Ruben Laureys volgde musicologie en culturele studies aan de universiteiten van Leuven en Bristol. Nu studeert hij klassieke gitaar bij Roland Broux aan het LUCA (Lemmensinstituut).
Hij speelde in erg verschillende formaties, gaande van jazz trio tot big band.
Vandaag focust hij meer op een repertoire voor solisten en kleinere ensembles.

Ruben Laureys studied Musicology and Cultural Studies at KULeuven and University of Bristol.
Currently he studies Classical Guitar with Roland Broux at Lemmensinstitute. He played in different formations (ranging from jazz trio to bigband), but currently he focuses on solo repertory and music for small ensemble (duo).
